GPHS Band Booster Club Minutes

Call to Order

The meeting was called to order at 7:23 PM by President Daniel Leger.

Attendance

Present: Daniel Leger, Tadd Morris, Brian Marston, Aaron Jackson, Sarah McKinney, Jason Grant, Michele Grant, Andrea Leger.

Quorum: not recorded.

Approval of Prior Minutes

Brian Marston moved to approve the corrected minutes, not including the abbreviated minutes. Second not recorded. The motion carried.

Reports

President's Report

Daniel Leger reported that Form 990-N was filed with the IRS with no filing fee, and that the annual report was filed with the Washington Secretary of State and the $20 filing fee was paid.

Treasurer's Report

Sarah McKinney reported current BECU balances as follows:

• Checking: $5,701.83
• Money Market: $1,412.38
• Savings: $18,861.05

The Treasurer also reported that the facility-use invoice from the school district for Jazz Festival and Drumline Festival was $2,640, with $2,146 attributed to the Jazz Festival portion; Daniel Leger has contested the invoice. The total paid for bass drums was $5,406.45. The ad hoc financial audit committee will report after end-of-June transactions are reconciled.

Heritage account closure participants/signers are to be confirmed.

Secretary's Report / Website

Daniel Leger moved that the organization transition the beta.grizzlyband.org website to the live website on or about midnight July 15, 2026. Second not recorded. The motion carried.

Action: Members should review the website and report red flags, errors, legal issues, egregious issues, display issues, access issues, or missing important information within approximately 24 hours.

Coordinator Matters and Communications

Uniform shirts need to be ordered within the approved budget for receiving expenses; the anticipated order is approximately $800.

Band Happenings distribution-list information will be imported into the new website mailing-list system. One final Brevo message may be sent if needed before the new system is ready.

Social media was deferred to the next meeting; current social media activity may continue, especially for band camp promotion.

Michele Grant will provide the cheer gear contact to Brian Marston, and Brian Marston may handle summer gear before band camp.

New Business

August Meeting Time

Jason Grant moved to move the August 11 meeting to 3:00 PM in the PAC. Second not recorded. The motion carried.

Action: The changed meeting time is to be communicated, including through Band Happenings.

La Palmera

A possible La Palmera dining-out event was discussed. No motion was made.

September All-Parent Meeting

September 8 was recommended for the all-parent meeting. The Vice Presidents will schedule the program. The board will determine in August how to schedule around the all-parent meeting.

Articles of Incorporation

Notice of the proposed Articles amendment/restatement was posted at: https://www.grizzlyband.org/2026/07/12/notice-to-members-of-proposed-articles-of-amendment/

Daniel Leger moved that the articles be revised to match those of the posted articles that were proposed on July 12, 2026. Brian Marston seconded. No amendments were made. The motion carried.

Bylaws Committee

Daniel Leger moved to create a committee to review the bylaws and propose amendments. Jason Grant seconded. The motion carried.

The committee was established. President Daniel Leger appointed Daniel Leger, Jason Grant, and David Shevitz to the committee. Jason Grant accepted the appointment. David Shevitz was not present, and his acceptance is pending.
