Band Happenings for May+

Hello GP Band Families!

Welcome to “Maycember”! Before the school year ends, the GP Band Program has a lot going on. Please read carefully, and make note of all the important dates that may include your band student.

Important upcoming DATES: 

Monday, May 6th  2:30-3:30pm  GPAC
Tuesday, May 7th 7-8pm  GPAC

Silverwood Travel Ensemble
Silverwood Rehearsal—There will be (5) rehearsals. Students should arrive 15-minutes prior to the start of each rehearsal and be ready to begin promptly at the start time listed. Mr. Morris will be taking attendance. Students are required to attend at least (3) rehearsals including the dress rehearsal on Thursday, May 16th (This rehearsal will be the only 90-minute rehearsal.)

Thursday, May 9th  7-8pm  GPAC
ALL Bands (except Jazz I & II) 
Spring Band Concert—Students should arrive @6:30pm in ** required Concert attire ** and be ready to begin at 7pm.

Saturday, May 11th  GPHS
Jazz Bands I & II 
Snohomish Valley Jazz Festival—GP Band Program and GP Band Boosters is please to be hosting this annual festival. Please refer to the email from Mr. Morris for more details re: call times and itinerary.

Monday, May 13th  7-8pm  GPAC

Silverwood Travel Ensemble

Friday, May 17th–Sunday, May, 19th   
Silverwood Travel Ensemble
Silverwood Trip—Final details coming soon. Scheduled departure time from GPHS is 12:30pm.
We need (1) Mom/female guardian to chaperone for our Silverwood 2024 trip scheduled for Friday, May 17th – Sunday, May 19th. For more information or to volunteer, please email gphsbandboosters@gmail.com with “Silverwood” in the subject line.

Band Banquet—Please join us for a night of celebration and recognition …and, of course, dessert.

>>Send us your band photos! This has been a great year for the GP Band Program! We would like share the accomplishments and the fun at the Band Banquet with a slide show. Please send your photos with “Band Pics” in the subject line to gphsbandboosters@gmail.com. Deadline for submission is May 23rd.

Percussion Ensemble 
Newport Drumline Festival—This event will be in the evening at Newport High School in Bellevue. Additional details, including call time and itinerary coming soon.

Drumline Camp 2024—Recommended for all new and returning Percussion Ensemble students interested in participating Grizzly Band’s Drumline. Registration information coming soon.

Grizzly Band 2024-25
Grizzly Band registration is required for all new and returning Band Students interested in participating in the GPHS marching band known as Grizzly Band. This registration also includes registration for Grizzly Band Camp August 5—9th. The Registration Fee supports GPHS Band programs including instructors, clinicians, music, uniforms, band camp and other events. All payments to GPHS Band Boosters and payments made on behalf of GPHS band students by GPHS Band Boosters are non-refundable. Registration information coming soon.
