Band Happenings – October 21st, 2024

This Week:

  • Disney Trip Meeting TOMORROW – Tuesday October 22nd, 7-8pm: There will be a mandatory meeting for all band students interested in participating in the Touring Ensemble trip to Disney Land. More information may be found here. Everyone going on the Disney Trip is required to attend this orientation in the Glacier Peak Auditorium. This year’s Big Trip is Spring Break 2025, Monday, April 7 – Friday, April 11. To participate students must be enrolled in a Band Class and have purchased an ASB card. A non-refundable deposit of $200 is due November 1st. More details on online payments and informational meeting coming soon!

Here are some things coming up:

  • Holiday Fundraiser – Our annual wreath fundraiser is underway! This fundraiser is a fantastic opportunity not only for students to offset some of their band costs (including the trip to Disneyland!) but also to help the band as a whole reach some of the fundraising goals we set out for the next year. But time is limited. Please make sure to submit your orders no later than November 1st! Items will be available for local pickup on Friday, November 22nd. Place your order today at https://www.grizzlyband.org/2024/10/07/2025-holiday-fundraiser/
  • Varsity Letter Points: The Class Info section of our website has a link to the real-time letter point tracker). Students wanting to earn a letter in band must earn 150 points AND attend at least 5 basketball games as a Grizzly Band member. If you have missing points or if you would like to get credit for approved extra activities, please fill out this form
  • Thank you volunteers!!: Thank you so much to the generous donation of your time. There are still great opportunities to volunteer at football games, field trips, and parades. Sign up on our Volunteer page

Contributing to the band program:

  • GP Band Spirit Wear: Thank you so much for those who have already been ordering from our GP Band Spirit Wear site. The boosters earn 10% from each sale. Just as a reminder, orders will be processed by Streamline Imaging in Snohomish and completed orders will be distributed at school.
  • Amazon Wish List: Another way to contribute to the band is to order items directly through our curated Amazon Wish List, making an immediate impact on our students’ musical journey.
